How to Prepare for Class

Bring your required materials

In order for our training to run safely and smoothly, Crockett Concealed Handgun School asks that you come to class fully prepared. You’re required to bring specific items with you, including:

  • A handgun (.32 caliber or larger)
  • 50 rounds of ammunition
  • Eye protection
  • Ear protection
  • A baseball cap
  • A black pen
  • Lunch (We do a working lunch)
  • Driver’s license or state ID card and your military ID, if applicable
  • Closed-toe shoes. (No flip-flops or sandals are allowed. No
    tank tops or low-cut shirts are allowed during qualifying due to spent brass. Dress according to the weather—we qualify in all weather conditions.)
Military personnel may waive the qualifying process if you have a current range card or a document showing proof of pistol qualifying through the military. Rifle range cards will not suffice—it must be a pistol range card.

Arrive on time for your class

The classroom portion of the training starts promptly at 8 a.m., so please arrive when the doors open around 7:45. The classroom portion finishes anywhere from 12 to 1 p.m. After the classroom portion, we’ll start the qualifying process. Qualifying times vary by class size.
